The 2025 IEEE International Conference on Intelligent Robots and Systems (IROS 2025), a premier academic event in the global robotics field, successfully concluded today. At this year's IROS, Aitu, an innovative technology company deeply integrating artificial intelligence with humanoid robotics, made a significant impression by demonstrating the complete "autonomous sewing" process, featuring its humanoid robot operating collaboratively with a Jack template machine.

Every aspect of the Aitu humanoid robot's design stems from the real-world demands of garment production lines, embodying the philosophy of "Intelligent Everything, Empowering Creators." Equipped with a high-precision mobile base, the robot navigates autonomously and flexibly between sewing stations, fabric racks, and workbenches, adeptly handling multi-tasking challenges within complex work cells. Its core competitiveness, however, lies in its built-in "sewing-specific embodied large model." This model, specifically designed for the large-scale garment manufacturing environment, grants the robot advanced intelligence to understand and execute sewing tasks, enabling it to stably handle various flexible materials with different textures, thicknesses, and conditions – arguably the most challenging aspect of garment manufacturing.

At the exhibition booth, the Aitu humanoid robot worked in tandem with the Jack template machine, presenting the entire autonomous sewing process from start to finish. The robot not only precisely identified and grasped both stacked and scattered flexible fabrics but also demonstrated exceptional generalization capabilities through a series of highly human-like dexterous manipulations. This signifies its ability to adapt to certain material variations without requiring reprogramming for each different fabric type – a feature perfectly aligned with the current trend towards small-batch, multi-variety flexible production.

Behind this demonstration lies our profound understanding of the pain points in the traditional, labor-intensive garment manufacturing industry. Our goal is to leverage automation technology to take over highly repetitive and skill-intensive pre-sewing preparation tasks, freeing frontline workers from monotonous, proficiency-dependent roles and enabling them to transition towards more creative and managerial functions. This product, scheduled for official release in 2026, is a vivid embodiment of our brand philosophy, "Intelligent Everything, Empowering Creators." Our aim is not to replace humans, but to empower every artisan through precise technological innovation, enhancing both the efficiency and the work experience across the entire industry.
